MEET THE DESIGNER

Heather White is an interior designer known for creating richly layered environments that blend vintage character with refined contemporary comfort. Her work is defined by collected furnishings, historic references, and material depth, spaces that feel timeless, personal, and quietly luxurious in the spirit of her love for historic architecture.

Through WHITE Atelier Interiors, Heather designs restaurants, boutique hotels, lodges, and residences that balance heritage and modern living. Her portfolio includes hospitality and adaptive reuse projects across the Midwest, along with her own Kansas City concepts Tailleur, Cheval and Enchante where her signature aesthetic first took form.

Since then her projects have included: Rivers Lodge & Hunt Club, Heritage by Bo Lings on the Plaza, Merchants in Lawrence, Cafe Trio, Oak Street Mansion, Gram & Dun in The Argosy Casino, The Lofts at 300, and a range of adaptive reuse and hospitality transformations. Each project reflects her belief that meaningful spaces emerge from a composition where history, texture, and function are carefully aligned.

Heather first gained recognition through the design of her own hospitality concepts, including Tailleur, Cheval, Enchante and The Russell in Kansas City, where her signature aesthetic established her as a distinctive design voice. These environments, set within restored historic structures, demonstrated her ability to translate narrative into place and experience.

Originally from Vancouver, Canada, Heather made Kansas City her home in 2016, where she began translating her background in hospitality into a broader design practice. What began with curating dining spaces evolved into a dedicated studio focused on creating environments that feel both elevated and lived-in.

For Heather, design is not simply visual it is experiential. A well composed space should feel intuitive, welcoming, and emotionally resonant. Whether shaping a restaurant, lodge, hotel, or private residence, her aim remains consistent: to create spaces that feel as good as they look, and that guests remember long after they leave.
